Knot is shareware: if you like it, you╒re asked to register it for a small sum. If not, please pass the program on to someone who you think might like it.
In return for your registration, you╒ll receive the Flaming Pear Omnibus disk, which contains example knots, power-user documentation, assorted software goodies, and fun. You╒ll also get notice of updates to the program, and a code word that turns off the 30-day timeout and banishes the ╥Please register Knot╙ message forever.
I╒m using a shareware registration service run by Kee Nethery (kee@kagi.com). The big advantage for you (and me) is that you can pay shareware fees with your credit card (VISA, MasterCard and American Express) via e-mail. This also makes it easier for people in other countries, since the currency conversions are handled automatically.
Run the ╥Register╙ program that came with Knot, and just fill in the blanks. (If you don╒t have it, e-mail me at lloyd@kagi.com, and I╒ll find you a copy.)
A registration for a single user is US$20. Companies, schools, universities, and other institutions may buy a site license for US$160. A world wide license, for international installations by corporations, is available for US$500.
If you are a software distributor, you are welcome to include Knot on a CD-ROM or disk collection, provided you send me some notification, and the whole Knot package is distributed unchanged and complete.
I would love to hear your feedback about Knot. I╒ll answer all suggestions, complaints, or technical questions.
